Bangalore-headquartered Royal Orchid Hotels ltd. has announced its plans concerning the opening of a new brand featuring mid-market accommodations. First hotels under this brand will start operating within 2 months in major cities of India.
Royal Orchid is not the only company that pays attention to midmarket segment. This move follows similar decisions of such popular hoteliers as Indian Hotels and Hotel Leela. Currently it is not clearly known where exactly these hotels will be located. Royal Hotels also doesn’t reveal the name of the new brand.
The managing director of the company Chender Baljee has recently told Reuters that Royal Orchid feels very comfortable in the five-star segment. The company also has Royal Orchid Central brand that features high-quality four-star accommodations. Now it’s time to plan another brand that will cover the needs of numerous in-country and international visitors.
This new brand will operate mostly third-party accommodations through management contracts. Now Royal Orchid is in the active process of search for proper hotels and has negotiations with several owners of properties.
