In 2013 Sol Melia will open its fifth hotel in Indonesia. This is going to be a 5-star Melia Adhiwangsa Surabaya. As it can be seen from the title, this is going to be a hotel in Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia located on the Java Island. The hotel will be targeted on leisure tourists will be a part of a leisure center that will also include a shopping mall, a golf course and other entertainment facilities.
The owner of the property is Bukit Darmo Property Group and Sol Melia acts as a managing company. The amenities of the hotel include 2 restaurants, a swimming pool, a Spa center, entertainment center for kids, and several meeting rooms.
Even though Sol Melia is mostly targeted on hotels in Europe, it has good relations with Indonesia. The first property outside the hotelier’s native Spain was an accommodation in Bali that opened 25 years ago.
The hotelier’s CEO Gabriel Escarrer says the development of infrastructure in Asia Pacific region is currently the biggest aim of the company.
