MWB Group Holding PLC, a London-based company and the owner of Malmaison (the boutique-hotel brand), has concluded an agreement with Rome-based Magellan Hospitality concerning strategic partnership and collaboration in expanding their presence throughout Europe.
According to the agreement, Magellan will help Malmaison to define new prospective properties and open new hotels in all major cities of continental Europe. The British company plans to start by opening hotels in Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Venice. The responsible person from Magellan’s side is the company’s managing director Moreno Occhiolini, who has previously been the chief operating officer of the Rocco Forte Collection.
Both companies plan to use this collaboration to cover both leisure and business travel segments. Once the major European destinations mentioned above will be covered with Malmaison properties, the companies plan to concentrate on opening accommodations in Monaco, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Zurich. Malmaison is open for different types of partnership and plans to increase the portfolio with owned, managed and leased hotels. All hotels will have from 100 to 150 guestrooms and will be targeted to younger visitors.
