A hotel in Abu Dhabi, one of the main cities in the United Arab Emirates, can become internationally famous because of the most expensive Christmas tree in the world. One of the most luxurious places in the city, Emirates Palace, has set up a Christmas tree that is decorated with diamonds. The total value of the tree estimates US $11 million.
Abu Dhabi and Dubai are the two main tourist destinations in the UAE that constantly compete in order to win the title of the most luxurious resort of the Middle East. It seemed Dubai won in this game after the opening of Burj Al Arab tower, but after a short break Abu Dhabi started acting again. This outrageously expensive Christmas tree can be considered as another challenge to the neighboring city.
Not only diamonds were used to decorate the tree, but a series of expensive “toys” made of silver, gold, sapphires, emeralds, pearls and other gems. The total value of them reaches 11 million. The tree itself cost the hotel US $10,000.
The Christmas tree that costs $11 million is a unique case that is why the hotel’s administration has already made an inquiry to the Guinness book of records.
Emirates Palace is known as the only 7-star hotel in Abu Dhabi. It is managed by Kempinski hotels. A diamond tree is not the first attempt to attract wealthy clients. In February 2010 the hotel offered a special 1-week package in Abu Dhabi with the cost of US $1 million. The promotion included living in one of the best hotel rooms of the world with multiple services, among which was a personal driver on Maybach.
