1 000 new rooms will be launched in hotels in Barcelona

Hoteliers find Barcelona a hot place these days and continue opening new properties in this European city. Over a thousand of new rooms will be opened here within several months. They will join the existing hotels that currently offer over 31 000 rooms. In spite of economic crisis investors still consider this city an attractive place for launching new projects.

Among new projects that are scheduled for opening in the nearest future are three 5-star hotels. These are Aqua Barcelona that is located on famous Via Laietana street (will be opened in the end of 2010), Alma Barcelona – new property in Alma Hotels portfolio, and Hotel Bagues that has started accepting clients, but not yet fully functioning.

This week another property will be launched – República Apartments hotel in Barcelona. This apart-hotel is owned by Derby chain of resorts. The hotel is located in the popular 22@ region.

Sol Meliá, a famous hotelier, will also open its first property in Barcelona. The hotel under the Innside brand name will be located on popular Europa de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat square. This 100-key accommodation contains suites from 60 to 100 sq. m perfect for long stay.

In 2011 several interesting projects are also planned for release. Among them are 4-star hotel designed by famous Jean Nouvel. The 105 meter high 25 floor building is located on Europa Square near Fira 2.
