Vidago Palace, recently reopened luxury hotel in Porto, is going to regain the honorary title of one of the most significant historic hotels in Europe. This year Vidago Palace has been fully renovated and restored to its former glory in honor of its 100-year anniversary.
The hotel in Portugal occupies an area of 250 acres and is located less than an hour's drive from Porto.
The renovation work included a new façade and the restoration of Club House, as well as expanded
and improved spa facilities. Hotel rooms were decorated by a design bureau Bastidor, which also worked for the Bairro Alto hotel in Lisbon. According to traveldailynews.com, a new design features four dominant colour themes, natural fabrics, parquet floors, custom-made furniture and wallpapers which create a feeling of comfort and privacy.
Upgraded spa-center now offers 20 treatment rooms, including five hydro-rooms and suites for couples, as well as an indoor pool, steam room, sauna and fitness center.
The original golf course, established by Kenzie Ross in 1936, was redesigned by Cameron & Powell, and has become a high-class 18-holes golf course (6329 sq.m).
In addition, the Vilago Palace hotel offers its guests five restaurants and four bars.
