Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has announced its plan to open two hotels in Nanjing and Yangzhou, thus increasing its portfolio to 10 hotels in China in 2012 across its largest cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Guangzhou.
Shangri-La Hotel, Nanjing, will feature 670 rooms offering beautiful views of Suan U Lake. Incorporated in the hotel’s elegant interior are elements intrinsic to Nanjing’s historical and cultural traditions. The hotel will have several restaurants, a fitness center with a 25-meter-long roofed swimming pool, spa, several conference rooms and a 2,000 square meter dancing room.
Shangri-La Hotel, Yangzhou, features 371 rooms, the smallest one measuring 42 square meters. Here guests will enjoy a few traditional restaurants, including a Chinese restaurant with a lot local cuisine included in the menu. There will be several conference halls for business trips. Additional services will include the Horizon Club executive lounge and a wellness center with a roofed 25-meter-long swimming pool and tennis courts.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a major upscale hotel group operating in the continental part of China, which holds six properties in the Yangtze Delta. This is exactly where the first Shangri-La Hotel opened in Hangzhou in 1984.
