In the 60s of the last century, Stromness was the largest whaling base on the planet. Besides that, the island was visited by wildlife researchers from around the world. Now, its inhabitants are fur seals, Gentoo penguins, and reindeers. Observing them is the goal of many scientists and tourists. Those who are not afraid to overcome the difficult path have an opportunity to see the most beautiful places, stroll through the ruins of an abandoned whaling station, and see charming native species that feel themselves completely safe at this remote nook of the world.
