Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the main airport in the province of Guangdong. It’s located near its capital – Guangzhou. It handles over 66 million passengers a year and is the third busiest airport in the country by passenger and cargo traffic. Baiyun International Airport replaced the namesake airport that operated from 1932 to 2004. The modern airport started to serve passengers in 2004 when it substituted the previous one. There are three long runways and two passenger terminals at the airport. Terminal 1 consists of two concourses and the main terminal. Terminal 2 handles only domestic flights.
A high-speed highway connects the city and the airport. The airport has its own transportation centre situated to the south of T2. Here the guests can use metro, railway, bus route, taxi, and transfer services. A railway and metro (Line 3 “Airport South”) connect the airport with Guangzhou North and South railway stations. Express bus routes 1-10 regularly depart for different city districts and large capital hotels. A couple of city buses also stop at the airport. Taxi parking lots are situated next to exits from both of T1 concourses: A (Exit 8) and B (Exit 6). As for T2, taxis can be found near exits 50 and 52 there. It’s forbidden to use transportation network company apps at CAN.
