It will be interesting to visit the Regional Historic Museum, which was opened in 1925. Its collection includes a lot of interesting archaeological finds, including antique jewelry, household items, old coins and weapons, as well as items of religious value and a rich collection of ceramic tableware. Among the religious sites of interest, St. Cyril and Methodius Cathedral is notable; the amazing wooden altar and murals have survived there.
There also many important attractions outside Burgas. The historic center of Nessebar is a landmark of world importance. Here you can admire the ruins of prehistoric buildings, as well as have a stroll through the extensive archaeological areas. Nessebar is famous for the famous Church of Christ Pantocrator built in the 13th century. A century later, it has been preserved in its original form. It’s a major landmark of these places.
Pomorie has numerous historical monuments too; Sozopol is a great place for excursions. Walking through its historic district, you can see buildings of different eras. For many years the undisputed symbol of Sozopol has been the Church of St. Mary decorated with artful wooden iconostasis created by local craftsmen. In the immediate vicinity of Sozopol there is interesting Archaeological Museum housing a unique collection of Greek vases.
