Various charity events are held within the festival as well. Costs collected during the festival are then given to children’s funds and medical charitable organizations. It should be noted that most local residents consider taking part in charity events their duty. This feature of local culture is rather contagious for foreign guests of the city taking part in various charity events on par with locals.
Another local event of global recognition is the Comic-Con International. During the holiday the streets of the city turn into a scale movie location and shooting area. Within the festival Hollywood celebrities perform new films, one can meet people wearing costumes of favorite movie heroes at every turn. The Comic-Con International festival held in 1970. Since that time the event has gained the greatest scale attracting tourists from all over the world. Annually the festival is attended by more than 150 thousands of tourists.
