The only ancient structures that have survived in Podgornica are Turkish fortresses built in the 15th century and castle of King Nicholas Negush, construction of which took place in the 19th century. Today the palace hosts the exhibition of Art Gallery, so besides the observation of rich-decorated halls visitors can see the works of famous sculptors and painters. Church of St. George built in the 12th century is the oldest building of religious character. Tourists are also offered to visit another Roman settlement, which has managed to survive - an ancient town called Doklea. Here you can see the ruins of ancient temples, terms and forums.
After a day full of sightseeing it’s so nice to walk along one of the beautiful parks of Podgornica or sit in a cozy restaurant; fans of shopping will surely get much fun in modern and large shopping malls.
