Today this Palace Park is known as the largest and most beautiful park in the city. Its territory often becomes the location of numerous important holidays and festivals. A part of old buildings is now dedicated to the exhibition of Museum of Baden (Badisches Landesmuseum). Next to the palace park travellers will find beautiful Botanical Garden. Baden Museum is known as the largest cultural center of the city. Exhibition halls of the museum are located on four floors, and offer visitors interesting collections of archaeological, historical and ethnographic exhibits.
Market Square is considered the center of the historic district of Karlsruhe. There is the building of the town hall of incredible beauty nearby. This part of the city is the location of another important symbol of the city - a monument in the shape of a pyramid. The monument is dedicated to the city's founder, Karl Wilhelm. The monument was erected directly above the tomb of Margrave. According to historical records several centuries ago a church was located in this place. The eastern part of the city is the location of another important architectural object - Schloss Gottesaue, which was built in the 9th century. Originally the palace belonged to a Benedictine monastery, and later it was decided to open the University of Music in this beautiful historic building.
