Best Destinations for Adventurous Travelers in Spring 2020

News If you wanted to travel this spring and was planning to visit a new and adventurous place but was out of ideas, this article may be useful for you. The following destinations are close to nature which might be good since the coronavirus epidemic makes big city vacations less attractive. Let’s start the list with Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island in the United States. The island offers a whole range of outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing, trekking, climbing, and rowing. As many interesting paths are closed in winter, it is better to visit this park in spring and summer.

Bagan in Myanmar is the next unique destination on our list. Even though this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there are still not many tourists. Old Bagan is an ancient city that was abandoned but still has hundreds of Buddhist temples of different sizes. The city is located in the Mandalay Region, so tourists usually book a hotel in Mandalay, the region’s capital, and then head to Bagan. Visitors can try a unique activity in this area – they can fly over the temples and the village in a hot air balloon. This is a truly mesmerizing experience that you will remember for years to come.

Do you like wild animals and want to see them close in their natural habitat? In this case, the Etosha National Park in Namibia is one of the most fitting destinations. The country tries to protect its wild nature, and so almost half of the southwestern coast of Namibia is a protected territory. The national park is home to a large population of elephants, monkeys, black rhinos, lions, and other animals. In the park’s Skeleton Coast, visitors can try such unusual activities as sandboarding and sledding.

Three currents from different oceans create unique flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands. As the islands are isolated, it is possible to see some extremely rare animals here, such as the giant tortoise, sea lions, flamingo, finch, marine iguana, and so on. Besides animal watching, tourists can ride tree-canopies and try diving, surfing, and trekking.

The last but not the least, Poco Azul is a hidden cave with a turquoise-colored pool on Sao Miguel Island in Brazil. It is not easy to reach this hidden treasure because visitors need to hike several miles. However, the view of Poco Azul is so rewarding that you will immediately forget about your tired muscles and indulge in the beauty of the area.
