Needless to say, it will be harder to book hotels in Brussels very soon, so hurry up if you wish to pamper your loved one with a short romantic vacation.
Bright Brussels will have its events scattered in the historic center of the city. Visitors will surely not get lost and never miss an interesting installation as there will be several free guided tours. Moreover, the routes will be illuminated, as well as the perimeter of the festival area and signposts. The guided tours will also take visitors to such districts as Vismet, Saint-Géry, Béguinage, and Dansaert. A professional VIZIT guide will tell more about different installations and their authors. The Kanal Centre Pompidou will also host temporary exhibitions, but the entrance will be paid visitors will need to pay a symbolic sum of 5 euro.
Needless to say, this festival is very beneficial for hotels in Brussels and the city’s hospitality industry in whole. Last year, more than 120,000 people visited Bright Brussels. The city literally doesn’t sleep during these four days as the real magic starts after nightfall because numerous illuminations create a truly magical shine. Several streets in the central part of Brussels will be made pedestrian for the event. As this year the Brussels-Capital Region celebrates its 30th anniversary, we can expect something truly unforgettable.
Some details of the upcoming event have already been revealed. Njord and TETRO will illuminate Vismet Square and Saint Catherin’s Church. This installation is dedicated to the magic of winter and warm childhood memories. Visitors will see the ballet of feathers and a mysterious sanctuary. On Halles Saint-Gery, there will be the installation named “The Suite”. It is a 10m wide video screen with sound that tells a story of Boris 504, a chimpanzee sent to the Moon by the Soviet Union. The animal then travels between several dimensions. Place du Vieux Marché aux Grains, in its turn, will have an installation dedicated to film-making, while the work on Place du Nouveau Marché aux Grains will be a true journey of senses.
