Nomura Launches a New Hotel Brand – Nohga Hotels

News Nomura Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. together with Nomura Real Estate Hotels Co. Ltd. have announced the creation of a new hotel brand, Nohga hotels. The first hotel in Ueno, Tokyo, will greet its guests in autumn 2018. The launch of a new hotel brand is in line with the main concept of the company that tries to “create cities and hotels that link individuals to societies”.

The idea to launch a new hotel brand came out as a desire to offer something different to clients. According to Nomura, while many hotels are currently judged based on their affordability and convenience, Nohga hotels will offer more personalized approach. The hotelier is interested in providing more to their guests and making them enjoy the time spent in the hotel. This concept tightly connected with experiences that visitors can gain through interactions with the local community.

Each hotel will offer something new for travelers. For example, it will have the design that is based on the specific “color” of each community that depends on the location of a certain hotel. Each Nohga hotel will have different amenities, furniture, and elements of décor made by local craftsmen or artists. The idea of the hotelier is to create a welcoming space that visitors will want to return again and again. Large lounge areas and lobbies will create the atmosphere of a “home away from home”.

Besides that, Nohga hotels will offer a range of exclusive services that will help guests of the city to explore the region, its unique charm and culture. The Nohga hotel in Tokyo is already announced, but no further information is available about future expansions. However, in the long-term development plan of Nomura that is due by 2025, the hotelier mentions the expansion of its hotel network. The primary aim of the company is to create “urban-type compact towns” that are and multifunctional and comfortable to stay at.

Nohga Hotel in Ueno will have a prime location close to Ueno Park and the National Museum of Western Art. Tourists will also enjoy fast and simple access to such popular destinations in Tokyo as Ameya-Yokocho Market and Asakusa. This is a vibrant and bustling part of the Japanese capital where tourists will find many workshops, boutiques by young designers, and galleries with works of modern artists. In order to tie to the local area, the new hotel will feature Edo-kiriko glass by Kimoto Glassware, elements of décor by Kyo-gen Inc. and SyuRo Inc. that try to adapt traditional Japanese design and techniques to modern lifestyle.
