Time Hotels Management has announced its plan to open a hotel that will be almost completely run by women. The four-star hotel will be located in Al Barsha district in Dubai that is known for its shopping. According to Time Management, almost 80% of the hotel’s staff will be females, including general manager Ghada Mahgoub. The hotel was presented during the Arabian Travel Market conference that took place in Dubai World Trade Center.
The idea to open a hotel run by females is inspired by the goal of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum to increase the number of women in workplaces. The launch of the hotel in Al Barsha will create nearly 100 jobs for women. Named Time Asma Hotel, the new accommodation will have 232 guestrooms and will also feature a business center, two restaurants, a swimming pool, a gym, Jacuzzi, and four meeting rooms.
The new hotel is set to open closer to the end of the year. It is reported that Time Asma will have two floors exclusively for female travelers. This part of the hotel will have a female-only check-counter, dedicated room service, in-room babysitting service, enhanced in-room amenities, and only female interactions while staying at this part of the hotel. Moreover, every guestroom will have an in-room tablet with a wide range of beauty services offered for guests of the hotel. Travelers can be provided with women-only taxis, and drivers will enjoy special parking spaces dedicated for females.
Time Hotels underline that females will occupy all managerial positions at the new hotel. Currently, women are still underrepresented in leadership positions, even though the ratio of male and female graduates of hospitality schools is almost equal. Women are also the biggest decision makers when it comes to travel nearly 80% of decisions about travel and its budget globally are made by women.
