Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts offers brand new virtual reality service using Samsung Gear Virtual Reality (VR) headsets. The company has already provided all global sales offices of the hotelier with these gadgets featuring information about Shangri-La hotels around the world. Stunning 360-degree videos are currently available for around quarter of 94 hotels and resorts in the portfolio of the hotelier. New videos are to be added regularly, and already in January 2016 almost half of all Shangri-La hotels will have presentations for the virtual reality headsets. Guests will be able to see and feel completely on new level, and be engaged into atmosphere and life of the selected place. The headsets will also be used in a number of ways, for example, for promotional and educational purposes, at meetings and events such as fairs, and more.
The virtual reality technology becomes more and more popular, and its advertising capabilities draw attention of companies from different industries. The hotelier believes these videos will be useful for both customers and partners of the company. They will be able to understand products offered by Shangri-La better and get more personalized service. The company also plans to develop various interactive applications for the headset.
