Shangri-La hotel in Paris launched a series of green dinners at its La Bauhinia restaurant. Labelled as “100% green dinners”, the dinners were first launched on July 9 and will last till the end of the year. The schedule of such dinners is quite tricky they take place every first Thursday of each month.
Participants of such an event will be able to try something really new. Chefs of the hotel’s restaurant prepare a special five course menu mostly focused on vegetables. The choice of ingredients is really gourmet and will please even most discerning visitors. The dishes served include spring rolls with watermelon and soup herbs, kasha with green vegetables cooked with almond milk, and as dessert guests are treated with strawberries with sangria. Drinks for the meal have been also selected with care. Guests are offered wines that were made at biodynamic farms, fair trade tea and coffee, as well as non-roasted and hand-picked cocoa beans. Every detail is important during such green dinners, so even sugar served is fair trade and organic. Guests can select from cane sugar, coconut sugar and agave syrup.
Not only guests, but also suppliers of Shangri-La Paris are invited to these dinners. During the event farmers, gardeners or wine growers will tell guests more about their approach to agriculture and will learn more about preferences of La Bauhinia diners.
