Recently Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has been very interested in development of its Luxury Collection brand. Not so long ago the hotelier announced the investment of US$300 million into development of the brand in North America, and now the European portfolio of The Luxury Collection is to get four more properties. These are Falisia Resort & Spa in Portopiccolo, Augustine hotel in Prague, Grand Hotel River Park hotel in Bratislava, and Caresse Resort & Spa in Bodrum. Together with these newly added hotels, the global portfolio of The Luxury Collection will surpass 100 already this year.
Augustine hotel in Prague started operating as a part of The Luxury Collection family in the end of June. The hotel enjoys excellent location in the district of Mala Strana, which has been added to World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The hotel is adjacent to Wallenstein Garden, and such popular sights of the city as Charles Bridge and Prague Castle are located in walking distance. The 100 guestrooms and suites of the hotel are spread across 7 historic buildings, the largest of which is the 13th century St. Thomas Monastery. The building still remains home of the St. Augustine order friars. The hotel has elegant design reminiscent of the monastic history of the building.
Falisia Resort & Spa opened on July 18. This resort is located in the exclusive beachfront complex Portopiccolo Sistiana on the Adriatic coast of Italy. The resort consists of 65 elegant rooms and suites, a private beach, infinity pool, and a luxury spa. Dining facilities are represented by two restaurants that serve gourmet and healthy cuisine, and to the service of business guests the resort offers three meeting rooms. Falisia Resort & Spa is a part of a contemporary village that also includes a marina, a beach club, retail and dining units, and residential unit. The resort can be conveniently reached from the airports in Venice and Trieste.
In the end of July opens another new hotel in Bodrum, Turkey. Caresse Bodrum is located in the most prestigious destination in the country. The resort features 84 guestrooms, suites and residences that will amaze guests right from the start with their panoramic views. Caresse Bodrum offers five dining venues, various leisure facilities, a yacht club, a 17,000 sq. ft. spa, tennis and basketball courts, several pools, and even an overwater deck perfect for celebrations and events with up to 500 guests.
Finally, Grand Hotel River Park in Bratislava, Slovakia, is set to open on July 31. The hotel was designed by the famous Dutch architect Erick van Egeraat. The hotel is located in the central part of a new development project that includes several hotels, retail space and business offices, residences and entertainment facilities. The hotel is located on the bank of the Danube. It takes around 10 minutes by foot to reach the old city center from Hotel River Park. The hotel features 231 guestrooms and suites, several restaurants, an indoor pool, a lobby bar, two grand ballrooms, five meeting rooms and a fitness center with spa.
