Carlson Rezidor announced the opening of its new hotel in China the 200 guestroom Park Inn by Radisson hotel in Libo, Guizhou. The hotel will start operating in the second quarter of 2016 and will be located near the entrance to Xiaoqikong National Park. The midscale property will be the third brand by Carlson Rezidor available in China, with Radisson Blu and Park Plaza hotels being the first and second ones. Hotels under these brands operate in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Wuxi, and Chongquing.
The hotelier has been on Chinese market for 20 years already and considers the country a key location for its growth in Asia Pacific, so we should expect more hotels to be announced in China. By 2019, Carlson Rezidor plans to have as many as 50 hotels in operation.
In 2016, Carlson Rezidor is to debut on Chinese market with another new brand. This time that will be Radisson Red hotel in Shenyang. The key customer for the brand is Chinese millennial traveler aged 25-34. By 2019, one third of all Chinese tourists will fall into that category. Current portfolio of the famous hotelier in China includes 14 hotels, 28 additional ones are already in pipeline. Carlson Rezidor is particularly interested in presence in emerging cities like Xiamen, Sanya, Dalian, Xi’an, Nanjing, and Shenzhen.
