Radisson Blu finally announced the names of winners in its unusual competition. Earlier this year, the famous hotel chain launched an unusual competition. It offered bartenders from all over the world to create special cocktails, the best of which would be added to the Blu Signature Drinks menu and would be available in Radisson Blu hotels in Asia Pacific. As many as 40 professional bartenders participated in the contest. In the end, the jury selected two winning cocktails. They will be available in the mentioned hotels starting from the annual “Blu Day” on September 27.
Surprisingly, both the winning drinks were created by the same person Ashmeet Grover, who is the chief bartender in the Savannah Bar in another hotel by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Radisson Blu Plaza hotel in Delhi.
According to Grover, he found his inspiration in blue sapphires that are mined in the Indian state of Kashmir. His first cocktail (the alcohol one) is a combination of Johnnie Walker Double Black, Blue Curacao, Drambuie, and Bombay Sapphire gin. This cocktail is served with a sugar ball. The other one (the non-alcohol cocktail) is called Breezy Blu Topaz, and it contains the non-alcoholic version of Blue Curacao, mint leaves, lime juice, and sugar syrup. This cocktail is also served together with a sugar ball.
By the way, guests of Radisson Blu hotels are welcome to provide feedback about the cocktails on the company’s website. As a reward, these guests will receive a 10% discount and 2,000 extra Club Carlson Gold Points.
