Starwood Hotels & Resorts has presented a brand new workspace concept for its Westin Hotels & Resorts brand. New workspaces will be made in 40 hotels around the world already this year. Currently, only visitors of Westin hotels in Arlington and Munich can enjoy the new design.
The new concept was developed in order to help modern travellers work more comfortably. While many hotels think of their lobbies or guestrooms as potential workspaces, they are not always convenient. The new workspaces called Tangent are small smart rooms designed specifically to increase productivity. The rooms can be booked on demand.
All the rooms have enough space for four people and are equipped with media:scape technology by Steelcase that enables fast data sharing and transfer, as well as video conferences. Visitors will find there all important devices, such as TV, printers, DVD players, Xbox 360, free wired and Wi-Fi Internet, and large floor-to-ceiling white boards with all office supplies. These rooms can also be used to organize small negotiations and teleconferences.
The workspace rooms are not large their average size is 24 sq. m. or less. The workspaces are made in neutral colors with soft grey as the main base and touches of amber, emerald, and blue. Some walls are decorated with murals inspired by Fibonacci sequences.
