Accor, one of the most famous European hoteliers, will soon add a new country to its portfolio as the company has signed a contract concerning the management of two hotels in Bangladesh. This decision follows the company’s strategy to increase its presence in South Asia.
Bangladesh will become the 17th country in Asia Pacific that has Accor-branded hotels. The new hotels in Bangladesh will be Novotel Dhaka Gulshan Avenue and Novotel Chittagong. The two hotels will be managed by Accor. These hotels will have over 350 guestrooms, and will be opened in the two largest cities of the country. The news about the debut in Bangladesh came when Accor celebrated its 30th year in the region.
As Accor’s spokesman mentions, they are very happy about their expansion in Asia Pacific. Just like its neighbour, India, Bangladesh has seen a fast growth over the latest decade. Currently, the annual growth of GPD is over 6% in Bangladesh, and this is a really good sign, especially when compared to many developed countries that cannot cope with economic crisis. Bangladesh is also known as the second largest exporter of textiles, and many businesses are concentrated in the city of Chittagong.
Novotel Dhaka Gulshan Avenue will be located in Gulshan district that is known as an important diplomatic and business destination. The hotel will be just 13 kilometres away from the international airport, and its truly beneficial location will feature direct access to offices of multinational companies, banks, retail space, etc. Novotel Chittagong will be located in the business district of the city. It will take just 30-35 minutes to reach the hotel from the international airport.
