Marriott International has announced its collaboration with Ctrip. From now the participants of Marriott Rewards program will be able to receive special Ctrip points for their stay in one of Marriott’s hotels around the world. All members of Marriott Rewards system will benefit from this, but Chinese travellers may be particularly pleased as the company is known as the largest travel enterprise in China. Ctrip has over 50 million registered members and provides such services as hotel reservations, purchasing flight tickets, and tour packages. With over 39,000 hotels in its database, Ctrip is the method of booking hotels of approximately 36 million of travellers a year.
Marriott will also provide Ctrip with its real-time XML connectivity that will allow gaining access to the hotelier’s inventory and rates, so Ctrip’ customers will get freshly updated information about booking guestrooms.
Spokesmen from both companies have expressed the delight from the partnership. For Marriott it’s one more step further to strengthening its leading position on Chinese market. Ctrip adds a large number of hotels around the world that will help the company to provide better services to its clients. Currently the program is in its beginning, but once it comes to full power, all members of Ctrip who join Marriott Rewards as choose Ctrip as their primarily preference will get twenty Ctrip points for each USD$1 they spend in Marriott branded hotels. The following brands of the hotelier are eligible for rewards – Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Vacation Club, JW Marriott, The Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels, EDITION (room rates only), and the Ritz-Carlton hotels (Marriott’s partner). Ten Ctrip points per USD$1 will be given to customers who stay in the following hotels (room rates only) Courtyard by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, AC Hotels by Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, TownePlace Suites by Marriott, and Residence Inn by Marriott.
