Ibis Hotel in Tokyo Shinjuku is finally open. This is the first accommodation by the Ibis brand in the country. The grand opening took place on November 1, 2011.
Accor, which is known as the leading international hotel operating company in Asia Pacific region, has selected a great place to debut with its Ibis brand. Ibis Tokyo Shinjuku is located right in the center of Japan’s capital. The hotel is just 3 minutes away from the busiest train station in the world. Despite such prime location the hotel is targeted at cost conscious travellers who want to get all modern services at best value.
The opening of a new hotel may have a refreshing feeling for the whole industry as after the devastating earthquake and problems with radiation Japan suffers from the lack of tourists. Ibis hotel has already got sufficient recognition in different parts of the world, so it’s high time to announce it in Japan thinks Patrick Basset, the vice president of Accor Vietnam, the Philippines, South Korea and Japan. Even though this is the first Ibis hotel in Japan, Accor already has nine accommodations operating in the country under different brands.
Ibis hotel in Tokyo is not a newly built hotel. The rebranded accommodation has 206 guestrooms. The hotel is not refurbished yet. It will be done within next several months. The total number of Ibis hotels in Asia Pacific region reaches 100 properties with the total number of rooms exceeding 17,340. Overall 920 Ibis hotels operate worldwide.
