South Korea Plans to Increase The Influx of Tourists to Hotels in Seoul

News The government of South Korea has revealed its plans concerning the new package of actions aimed to increase the number of tourists who visit the capital of the country – Seoul.

The tourism sector of the economy becomes a significant source of income and one of the ways of economic growth. Within last three years the double digit increase in the number of tourists caused the lack of supply. So the government of the country plans to increase the city’s hotel market by opening 36,000 more rooms until 2015. In order to make the development more profitable, the Korean government offers cheap land for hotels in Seoul.

It is also known that the main increase in the number of tourists is reached thanks to visitors from China, so attracting them is the main priority to the country. Seoul government wants to make the city friendlier to visitors from China and plans to add this language to many facilities. For example, the majority of restaurants will have menus on Chinese, many tours and applications for smartphones will be available in Chinese. The local tour agencies also plan to develop special tour programs for budget visitors from this country.

In 2010 the total number of visitors to South Korea increased by 12.5% to 8.8 million of people.
