Best Western Plans to Expand Its Portfolio of Hotels in India by 100 Until 2017

News Best Western concentrates its attention to the growing market of India and has ambitious plans concerning the expansion in this region. The company has revealed it wants to increase the number of its hotels in India up to 100 by 2017. All hotels will be opened mainly in the budget segment.

Best Western currently has 18 hotels in India with total of 1,000 guestrooms. 11 more hotels are currently in the pipeline. The target of having 100 hotels and around 10,000 rooms was mentioned in the interview of the hotelier’s president and CEO Sudhir Sinha to the Economic Times.

The majority of hotels are planned to be opened under a franchise agreement with Cabana Hotels. Best Western plans to open around a half of 100 hotels under the company’s main Best Western brand. Some hotels in midscale and upscale categories may also be opened under other brands of Best Western – Best Western Premier (luxury segment) and Best Western Plus (midscale properties).
