HotelRez has decided to launch a global distribution system that will be targeted to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) customers. The distribution system will be named “World Rainbow hotels” and will include only strictly selected hotels that meet all criteria to make GLBT guests happy. This includes not only high quality service and the label of a “gay-welcoming” hotel. Staff in these hotels must understand special needs of such guests and must know how to meet these specific concerns.
HotelRez Group ltd. plans to make its hotels in London an ideal place for both business and leisure travel GLBT guests. Other hotels, that are willing to be included into “World Rainbow” system, must undergo a special online course and train its stuff how to behave and deal with requests in case they face GLBT clients. As Ian Johnson, Out Now Consulting CEO, mentions, GLBT tourists often have special needs and hoteliers should learn how to deliver best quality service and implement the expectations of these guests.
World Rainbow Hotels works in collaboration with the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA). The distribution system will include partnerships with bookers and media. IGLTA representatives state they are happy with this partnership and hope it will help to improve travel experience of GLBT tourists.
