St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport in Florida is the airport servicing the US civil and military aviation. The airport gained such a name due to its location. It is located between St. Petersburg and Clearwater. The airport was founded in 1941. Its first name was Pinellas. At St. Pete-Clearwater, there are two air-strips. The airport is used by low-cost airline companies. It also serves private and corporate flights. The airport is a base for the coast air guard and is used for air freight. St. Pete-Clearwater services over 2 million people every year.

The transport communication between the airport and nearby cities is ensured by taxis, transfers, and rented cars. Official taxi and transfer companies are provided in the Ground Transport Center located in the territory of the airport. The working hours of companies depend on the time of the last flight arrival: their offices are closed half an hour after the last flight arrival.

The offices of such companies, as Alamo, National, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, are located opposite baggage conveyor belts (near the information desk). Offices are open from 6-7 am to 23 pm every day (the working hours may change depending on the schedule of the arrival of airplanes.

The offices of the following companies are located outside the passenger terminal at: Dollar, Thrifty – 3535 Ulmerton Rd, Clearwater; Economy – 4707 140-th Av North, suite 203, Right across the street, Clearwater. These companies meet their clients at the airport and transfer them to the place where they can take a car.

Rented cars are taken and returned to the special lot for rented cars. This lot is located behind the parking area of the Ground Transport Center.

Long-term and short-term parking, hotels nearby

At the airport, there are short-term, long-term and (two) economy parking areas. The long-term and short-term parking lots are located within walking distance from the passenger terminal. The economy parking offers a free shuttle transfer. The short-term lots don’t service passengers at nights.

Parking areas are opened two hours before the first departure and are closed one hour after the last flight.

There are the following hotels located 2 km from the airport: Quality Inn and Suites, Sleep Inn, Spring Hill Suites, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, and Comfort Inn. It is recommended to learn about the transfer from the airport by contacting the hotel.
