Paradise Point Beach is located in the bay with the same name. This beach is located within the city boundaries. The sea is calm here, and so the water is almost always still. However, the storm season starts in May, and this calm beach becomes the gathering place of surfers who come to ride waves. If you are fond of surfing and want to try it, it is hard to think of a better time and place. There are also areas for playing volleyball and basketball, a diving club, a horse and camel riding area, and numerous cafes and restaurants. Visitors are usually pleased with clean water and sand. However, Paradise Point Beach is popular, so if you don’t like crowded places it is better to visit it early in the morning or in the evening.
Empress Market is located not far from the Saint Andrew Church in Karachi. It is a large complex that includes numerous rows of shopping stalls and one roofed pavilion. Without a doubt, this is the noisiest place in the city. Moreover, it is possible to find virtually everything here: souvenirs, clothing, and fresh fruit and vegetables. The market was opened in this building yet at the end of the 19th century. Empress Market got its name after Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom and Empress of India. When heading to the market, don’t forget about safety measures.
The local zoo is open almost in the heart of Karachi. It is one of the largest zoos in the region. Visitors can see animals from different countries and regions, including rare species from the Red List. Spacious cages have comfortable conditions that are close to the natural habitat of animals, so they can survive in the hot local climate. In the zoo, there is a wonderful park with benches, several cafes, recreation areas, and playgrounds for children. It is even allowed to pet and feed some animals.
