Tromso - Roadster/Convertible Hire

Searching for open roof cars

Preset configuration of the white form above - search for an exotic car or a cabriolet at 'Tromso - Airport'. Address: Europcar, Tromso, 9265, Norway.

In Tromso, we provide vehicles at 4 different rental locations. Cars with a folding roof are rather of a rare type, so they are mostly offered in airports and railway stations.

We advise booking a cabriolet in Norway in advance (several weeks or even several months prior to your trip), since the availability of convertibles in our car park is quite limited.

Tromso, Norway: cabriolet rental hints
The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Norway are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet, Audi A3 Convertible, Audi A4 Convertible and BMW Z4 Roadster.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Tromso require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Norway is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Tromso and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Tromso, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Norway!

Driving Advices for Norway – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Some toll roads are equipped with automated payment points. You can drive safely through them, but within a month you will receive the bill. If you pay the bill late, then it will be regarded as a violation of the traffic rules. In this case the driver will have to pay a fine, which may be ten times bigger than the sum of using the toll road.
A large part of the city parks is equipped with payment machines. On entering such a parking lot, you should pay for the service and take a special ticket that must be placed in a visible place in the front window. We should note that the payment machines in parking lots accept coins of 1, 5, 10 and 50 kroner. It is also possible to pay by credit card.
In order to remind drivers to follow the speed limit, there are “speed bumps” on many busy roads. Not all of them are marked with corresponding road signs, so in the evening and at night drivers should be especially careful.

Enjoying sights of Tromso in cabriolet
A great vacation spot for tourists with children and all nature lovers will be a Polar Zoo. It is the world's northernmost wildlife park. Its visitors can see animals who have perfectly adapted to the conditions of the harsh winter, for which these places have long become home. Typical zoo inhabitants are lynx, bears, reindeer, wolves, elk, and musk oxen. The zoo is completely different from an ordinary one. Unique, close to natural, environments have been created here for animals. The zoo is open to visits all year round.

The Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a no less interesting sight. It is the northernmost Catholic cathedral in the world. Originally, a spectacular neo-gothic building was created as a private residence of the bishop. Only later it was converted into a cathedral and consecrated in 1861. Over the years of its existence, the cathedral has experienced many important historical events. During the Second World War, it housed a refugee camp. In 1969, a strong fire broke out in the church. With the efforts of local residents, it was restored in the shortest possible time.
