The tourists have a chance to look into the living quarters, where the interiors of the previous centuries were carefully restored. The old archives are kept in one of the small rooms. In the spacious and sumptuously decorated Rittersaal the ceremonial events were held. One of the most interesting elements of the ancient building is the Prison Tower, which can be visited only in the period from the beginning of April to the end of September.
In the tower is presented the incredibly interesting exposition - the tiny models of Neuchâtel city. The museum visitors can see what the city looked like in the early Middle Ages, and how it was expanded until the 19th century. Despite the impressive age, the castle has preserved a lot of original elements, including the ancient frescos whose age is over 500 years. It is better to inquire about the time of the excursions. In the high season, they are often led more often.
