Airline Tickets to Bern

Despite its status of a capital, Bern (Switzerland) is a relatively small city, with population less than 130,000 inhabitants. Bern seems to have done better than most other European cities in preserving its unique medieval townscape. Over centuries, little change has taken place on the city's look, except maybe for cars, trams, and traffic signs.

There are few cities that can boast of such a unique geographic location. The city is placed north of the Alps, on a small and steep-banked peninsula washed by the Aare River. The city's location made the city quite a handful for potential enemies in the past. Over time, the city grew far beyond its former natural boundaries, bridges connecting the Old Town with the rest of the city.
