Laos Launches a New Digital Platform to Promote Travel

News The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism of Lao PDR or, in short, Tourism Laos, has launched a brand new web platform to promote tourism to the country. For that purpose, it collaborated with Mekong Tourism Coordination Office and UNWTO Affiliate Member Chameleon Strategies. It took roughly six months to develop the new platform that is aimed to boost tourism in different parts of the country, so not only Vientiane hotels will benefit from it.

Named Inspiring Laos, the new portal is powered by ENWOKE management system that enables not only viewing but also sharing information. All residents of Laos and travelers are welcome to share their videos and photographs of Laos on various social platforms, such as Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest and add relevant hashtags.

Inspiring Laos will promote different destinations within the country and will have a list of interesting activities that travelers may find very appealing. It will also help small businesses and local travel operators reach masses by means of the Internet. According to Tourism Laos, they recognize the need in providing travelers with service and unforgettable experiences, so they need to team up with accommodation providers, local shops, restaurants, and attractions to make it easier to foreigners to plan a vacation in the country.

Tourism Laos also touches such potential issues as possible over tourism and less popular destinations. Inspiring Laos helps to discover hidden gems, so tourists will not stick to prime destinations only and will pay their attention to secondary destinations as well. That will drive wealth to less developed areas and will help to mitigate the risk of excessive tourism in some destinations. With the new platform, travelers can easily share their experiences on their social network pages and inspire other travelers.

The new platform is very handy for all travel planning activities. There is a map of Laos, and visitors can comfortably plan the entire trip and see the content posted by other fellow travelers. All main destinations are highlighted. It is also possible to search for new destinations using different filters, such as region or area of interest. There is information not only about Vientiane, Pakbeng, Luang Prabang, or Savannakhet but also less popular cities and resorts. Moreover, there is a list of activities and recommendations for different groups of tourists, including budget, family, and luxury travelers; adventure seekers, fans of nature, foodies, and many other categories. By applying multiple filters, visitors can create a vacation that will perfectly fit their wishes and requirements.
