The Largest Holiday Inn Express in Europe Opens in Germany

InterContinental Group will soon open the biggest Holiday Inn Express hotel in Germany and in whole Europe. This Cologne hotel will have 323 guest rooms and will be, according to the hotelier, the next generation of Holiday Inn Express properties. Named Holiday Inn Express Cologne City Centre, this hotel will feature a series of upgrades aimed to make the stay of guests more comfortable.

Sometimes small but, nevertheless, smart upgrades include sound absorbing features, flexible and customizable working spaces directly in guest rooms, USB ports near beds, and more. Such standard functionality as free Wi-Fi and a continental breakfast is available to all guests of the hotel. Holiday Inn Express Cologne City Centre has a fantastic location close to the Old Town, which can be easily reached by foot. In order to get to the renowned Gothic Cologne Cathedral tower, guests of the hotel will need to make a short U-bahn ride. That’s not hard to do as two U-bahn stations, Severinstraße and Poststraße, are within a short distance. Travellers can conveniently reach the hotel from Cologne Central railway station. In order to get to Cologne Bonn Airport, one needs to make only a 25-minute ride by car.

According to IHG, Holiday Inn Express is one the company’s fastest growing brands. It has managed to increase its presence rapidly across Europe, becoming particularly popular in Germany. This year alone, the hotelier opened 5 Holiday Inn Express properties in the country and signed 11 more.
