Iran to Get a Giant Winter Resort

For many travelers, Iran is a desert country in the Middle East, but soon a large winter recreation hub is to appear there. Located on a southern Iranian island, this resort is already under construction by Kish Free Zone Organization. The company hopes that such an unusual hotel in Iran will attract both domestic and international guests. Yet, the company will add elements of the infrastructure that are in line with the regional outlook.

The project, which budget is US$21 million, will be completed in two parts. The first phase of the new resort is due closer to the middle of 2018. The developer also hopes that hotel and sports complex will be entirely complete within two years. Kish Free Zone Organization (KFZO) hopes to become one of the top domestic companies in the hospitality industry.

Of course, the recreation center on the Iranian island will have a hotel. Nowadays, hotels are considered not only places to stay during a vacation or a business trip. In many countries, these are also popular places to hang out, and KFZO hopes that the same will happen with their new winter hotel on Kish Island. The name of the project was already revealed – Snow Land. The complex will cover an area of 19,000 square meters. During the first stage of construction, the complex will get leisure and recreation facilities with the total area of 7,606 square meters. During the second phase, the developer plans to add a 16-storey hotel with 124 rooms and suites. This part of the complex will be built on 11,200 square meters of land.

KFZO is very inspired about this project and, furthermore, plans to add a 90-hectare amusement park on another side of the tropical island. According to the company’s spokesperson, the building of the park will start “in the near future”. KFZO will handle development of the complex, attract both domestic and foreign investors, find personnel, and negotiate with regulators.

Kish Island is a popular beach resort that has become increasingly popular over the last two decades. This is a great place to swim, shop, and relax. Moreover, the lifestyle of the island is relatively liberated compared with the rest of the country, so Kish is a comfortable destination for foreign travelers. The coral island has a free zone status, and this has greatly helped the development of large shopping centers, hotel complexes, and entertainment facilities. Once a desert, the island is a prosperous place with numerous foreign and domestic tourists. Kish is particularly popular with locals in winter, when it’s getting cold on the mainland. The opening of the complex is in line with Iran’s global policy of developing its tourism sector. Considering it a “fountain of wealth”, this way the country also tries to create a friendlier and more positive image.
