During International Investment Forum in Berlin, Hilton has announced a very important milestone the company has reached the mark of 100,000 rooms in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The hotelier has been expanding its presence actively in recent years. Within just three years it has managed to add as many as 20,000 guestrooms in the region. Currently, Hilton has approximately 40,000 rooms under construction in EMEA and they all will start operating by 2020.
The company calls this achievement “a significant milestone” and acknowledges the importance of such expansion as it makes Hilton portfolio in the region more quality and diversified. At the moment, Hilton is particularly interested in opening more hotels under Hilton Garden and Hampton by Hilton brands. Their presence will double in the next three years. The internationally famous hotelier doesn’t forget about its upscale brand, DoubleTree by Hilton. The DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Madrid Prado will become the 100th hotel by this brand in EMEA. The new hotel brand by Hilton, Canopy, debuted successfully last year in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik. According to the hotelier, they will also open 16 Curio a Collection by Hilton hotels in the region and all of them are already operating or in the pipeline.
Hilton also provided guests of the forum with some interesting numbers. Last year, the hotelier opened 5,477 new rooms, and within just three years the number of rooms added in EMEA was 23,384. This year will be full of hard work for the hotel company as they plan to open more than 11,000 rooms in total. Finally, a brief look at Hilton’s pipeline shows that the company is targeting the Middle East and Africa as nearly half of all rooms in the pipeline are located there.
