Spafinder published its Wellness 365 report dedicated to major hotel spa trends for this year. The forecast throws light upon most popular trends in the industry in the areas of spa, wellness and hospitality.
Surfing is named the most popular wellness activity of the year. Not only surfing itself, but also its numerous spinoffs will attract attendees this year. Various fitness classes that stimulate surfing and water activities with artificial waves will be on the rise in 2016.
The next trend is dedicated to… sexuality. Sexual wellbeing slowly stops being a taboo and many “sex-forward” hotels offer special programs for their guests. Travellers, who seek authentic experiences, are recommended to pay attention to the ancient Mexican practice called temazcal (sounds as temas’kal). This is a ritual that includes heat, steam, ancient prayers, herbs and chants in order to connect physical and spiritual worlds.
Not only adults, but also kids are welcome to try special spa programs these days. Hotel spas will offer more and more special programs for kids, such as organic family menus, yoga for kids, special family wellness programs and more. When it comes to skincare, treatments from South Korea will be hot in 2016. The country is currently a global leader in the area of affordable and innovative skin care products.
Finally, in 2016 spas will become even more personalized and will offer more on-demand services, including such unusual ones as beauty cruises, yoga on deck, and medical beauty treatments while docked.
