Carlson Rezidor Adds a Hotel in Brussels

Residor announced its new addition to the Belgium portfolio. One of the most rapidly developing hotel companies in the world will open a hotel in Brussels Airport. The Park Inn by Radisson Brussels Airport is a midscale property with 163 guestrooms, which is set to open in the beginning of 2017. This is going to be the second Park Inn by Radisson hotel in Brussels. In total, the hotelier has 4 hotels with 735 guestrooms operating or under development in the capital of Belgium.

Brussels Airport is a big transportation hub that serves 22 million passengers a year. It’s hard to overestimate the importance of the city for business travelers, so Rezidor also has their corporate support office in Brussels. The new hotel will be located in the Diegem business district. The airport terminal is 2.4km away from the hotel. The Park Inn by Radisson Brussels Airport will offer shuttle services that will deliver guests to and from the airport. At the moment, the building of the future hotel is used for office spaces, but soon it will be converted to a hotel with 163 guestrooms, 7 conference rooms, several lounges, a gym, an all-day dining restaurant, and underground parking. For the owner of the building, VDB Hotels, it will be the first hotel developed together with Carlson Rezidor Group.

Despite its relatively small size (Brussels has only 1.8 million inhabitants), the city is an important center of international politics – Brussels is home to NATO headquarters and principle EU institutions. The city is also known as one of most important business destinations in Europe. Currently, Brussels hosts 50,000 companies, 2,000 from which are foreign. Other hotels in Brussels operated by Carlson Rezidor Group are the Park Inn by Radisson Brussels Midi, the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Brussels, and the Redisson RED Brussels hotel (opens in April 2016).
