Parisian hotels experience reduced bookings after the November terror attacks in the city. The number of visitors has dropped and even traditionally hot period of the year couldn’t prevent that.
Christmas time is traditionally a busy period for hotels in Paris as bookings are always high, but normally busy hotels faced problems in the end of 2015. According to wholesale hotel buyer JacTravel, many families decided to refrain from visiting Paris in December 2015. Those who still visited the city, stayed there fewer nights than usual.
The Parisian hotel market is volatile at the moment, and the situation changes every day. The terrorist attacks, which claimed lives of 130 people after a series of strikes by gunmen in different parts of the city, had huge impact to the tourist market of Paris. Next week, the number of flight cancelations grew by 21 percent, and bookings reduced by 27 percent compared to the same period of 2014. Yet, the situation improves slowly. Moreover, hotels in Paris offer discounts of up to 30 percent and various promotions to attract more visitors.
