The occupancy remained flat and lost only 0.1% to 89.2%, which is very good result even for famous European gateway cities. The growth of supply was slightly over-pacing the demand in September the growth of hotel supply estimated 1.7%, while the demand added 1.6%. However, a solid growth of average daily rate (+6.5% to 163.94GBP) helped to boost RevPAR significantly it also added 6.5% and estimated 146.29GBP.
The positive performance of London hotels in September was mostly driven by the Rugby World Cup that started in the middle of September and will last till the end of October. Starting from September 16 (the event started on September 18) RevPAR of London hotels grew in double digits and remained on that level till the end of the month.
