Marriott Hotels has started new service called Vroom Service in selected hotels. Launched together with Samsung Electronics America, the new in-room virtual reality experience is currently available at Marriott Park Lane hotel in London and Marriott Marquis hotel in New York. Together with the new experience, Marriott has also launched a brand new travel platform called VR Postcards. This platform is dedicated to stories of real travelers. By wearing a special virtual reality headset, guests of the selected hotels can see these stories in 360 3D. Currently, there are three VR Postcards available. They are dedicated to the Andes Mountains in Chile, streets of Beijing and an ice cream shop in Rwanda. In order to see the new visual presentations, guests need to wear the special Samsung Gear VR headset available in the abovementioned hotels. In future, the number of hotels supporting VRoom Service will only grow. General public can also see the presentations. For that purpose they need to use the Samsung VR headset and Samsung Milk VR premium video service.
According to the hotel management, they are sure VRoom services will be popular in future and will help new generations of travelers explore new places and unleash their creative thinking.
