Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of one more property in Germany. This will be a hotel in Munich airport. The 389-guestroom property will be a rebranded one, and it will operate under the flagship brand of the hotelier Hilton Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is located in the territory of the airport, and it’s the only hotel with direct access to the main terminal.
The upscale hotel will be managed by Hilton starting from January 2015. Currently, the hotel is managed by another company and operates as Kempinski Munich Airport Hotel. Before rebranding, the hotel will undergo an extensive renovation, during which additional 160 guestrooms will be added to the hotel. The hotel will start working full force in 2017. Hilton Munich Hotel will offer various business facilities, meeting and event space, various food & beverage options, fitness and gym.
The choice of Hilton is easy to understand. Munich Airport is one of biggest in Europe. Every year it serves almost 40 million visitors. Hilton has rich experience of operating hotels in airports the company opened its first hotel in airport in 1963. Currently, Hilton operates more than 50 hotels in airports around the world. Hilton Munich Airport will also become the 13th Hilton branded hotel in Germany.
The hotel will have two five-storey wings that will provide space for 389 guestrooms (43 suites included). The hotel will have modern design with big glass façade. Large spa will definitely become one of strong points of the hotel it will have a 17m long swimming pool, sauna, fitness area, whirlpool, a pool bar, steam bath, and seven treatment rooms.
