This year, Hilton Worldwide will again offer special grants to English language teachers. Developed together with Institute of International Education (IIE), the annual Teacher Treks Grant Competition will help teachers travel and bring English culture to different parts of the world.
Currently, applications are accepted for summer 2014. The hotel company offers two special travel packs Teach Abroad Grant and the Travel Grant. The Travel Grant will be given to 10 teachers who love their profession and who are aware of cultural diversity of today’s schoolchildren. Teachers, who will win this grant, will be able to visit another country and stay there for three-four weeks, enjoying extensive cultural program and exploring local sights. The second grant, Teach Abroad Grant, is targeted at English as a Second Language teachers. Winners of this grant will be offered to stay in a Hilton Worldwide hotel located in one of emerging markets. During their stay that will last two-three weeks, the teachers will provide English lessons for Hilton employees. Hotel employees, in their turn, will act as ambassadors of their countries’ culture.
Selected teachers for this year will be announced closer to the end of next month. In 2013, winners of Teacher Treks Grant visited more than 15 countries, where they provided lessons for more than 3000 students in total.
