Hotel loyalty programs are a great way to save on travelling or get nice bonuses. This is the main reason why millions of travellers around the world join these programs. The latest study by Kelton Global throws light on the most wanted rewards of hotel loyalty programs. More than 1000 travellers participated in the survey commissioned by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.
When selecting a rewards program, 62% of respondents say that the ease of getting free nights is the most important factor for them. Other important factors are free Wi-Fi option (almost 41% of respondents consider it when finding a hotel rewards program). Free Internet is even more important than the number of hotels in the network, frequency of promotions, and the ease of redeeming rewards points. The abovementioned factors are considered by 40% of respondents.
Travellers are not distinguished by sticking to one hotel loyalty program. Only 21% of respondents say they are signed up to one loyalty program, while almost 60% participate in two or more loyalty programs, and they select most proper hotels in each situation.
Vast majority of the survey participants (four out of five) say they do not hurry up to join a loyalty program and do this after they visited the hotel network for three or more times and consider themselves loyal to the brand. At the same time, 91% of individuals are ready to cancel their membership after negative experience, with 41% ready to cancel after just one disappointing visit.
