King George hotel in Athens is to open already this year. The property will belong to the famous Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts that unites best hotels in most popular tourist destinations. The hotel will be opened together with Lampsa Hellenic Hotels S.A. This hotel will become the eighth hotel in Greece under the Luxury Collection brand. Starwood plans to develop this brand actively and wants to have as many as 90 hotels around the world by 2016.
Both Lampsa and Starwood have expressed their hope that the Greek crisis will be a short one, and that the hotel will reach success and many devoted visitors.
The Luxury Collection has 85 hotels in its portfolio at the moment. These hotels are located in 30 countries, where they have proven themselves as extra quality hotels with exceptional service and the signature concierge service of the brand. King George will easily please even most discerning travellers who claim only the best. The building of the hotel is notable for its beautiful façade made in the neoclassic style. This is a building with really long and respected history the hotel was first opened in 1936.
