In the beginning of 2010, the board of directors of the Don-Plaza congress hotel declared a new development strategy aimed at the formation of the federal Don-Plaza Hotel network. The company has achieved a leading position in the hotel and congress service market in Rostov-na-Donu, Russia. Now it is challenging for a national level. “This strategy is suggested by the market itself. Don Plaza has gained a reputation of a major brand. We have received numerous requests from hotel owners to represent their properties”, said I. V. Gorin, the chairman of the board of directors.
Don-Plaza is ready to represent two types of hotels:
- Large 3* business hotels and 4* congress hotels with 100 to 400 rooms
- 4* Mini-hotels with up to 50 rooms
According to Andrei Demishin, a member of the board of directors, the company builds its strategy according to service demand. “…We are sticking to our own elaborate business standards that are formulated for small inexpensive hotels just as well”, Mr. Demishin explains. “Primarily, the company aims for the south of Russia (Essentuki, Armavir, Mineralniye Vody, Sochi and the Black Sea coastal areas), although we do not rule out cooperation with other regions.
Don-Plaza first adventured beyond Rostov-na-Donu back in 2007, when it bought and renovated Taganrog’s largest hotel.
