Hilton Worldwide continues expanding its network in the UK and announces three new hotels in the country. All the properties will operate under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand. In total, the company will open five DoubleTree hotels in the UK in 2013. When all of them start operating, the portfolio of Hilton in the country will reach 25 hotels.
The DoubleTree by Hilton brand is rather new in the UK. The first hotel under this brand, DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge, appeared in 2008. The new hotels that were signed last week are the 201 guestroom DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Bristol, the 139-room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Edinburgh, and the 106-room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Nottingham.
DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre will become the first hotel of the brand in the capital of Scotland. This hotel will be opened in accordance with a franchise agreement with West register Hotels. The hotel operated as Point Hotel, and now it is undergoing a refurbishment. The rebranded property is expected to open this summer. The second property, DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol City Centre, is also a rebranded property. Previously, the hotel was operating as Jarvis hotel. The refurbished and rebranded hotel will open already this spring.
Finally, the former The Nottingham Gateway Hotel and now DoubleTree by Hilton Nottingham will greet its first guests closer to the end of 2013 as currently the hotel is being refurbished. This property will operate in accordance with a franchise agreement with Exceptional Hotels & Resorts.
Hilton’s spokesman has already expressed their excitement about the launch of new hotels in key British cities.
