Last week, Wyndham Hotel Group together with Grand City Hotels reported the start of a new partnership, according to which Wyndham will rebrand as many as 43 hotels in Europe. The hotels are located in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
All the hotels are from the portfolio of Grand City Hotels, headquartered in Berlin. The German company decided to rebrand a third of its 120-hotel portfolio. Grand City is known as the second largest hotel operator in Germany. It is already known that 17 hotels will be rebranded and will work under the Tryp by Wyndham brand, 5 hotels will operate under the Wyndham Grand brand, 8 hotels will become Days Inn properties, 10 hotels will be rebranded as Wyndham Garden Inns, and, finally, three hotels will be rebranded as Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. All the hotels except for two are located in Germany. The remaining two are located in Amsterdam and Antwerp, and both will be rebranded as Tryp by Wyndham hotels. Despite the change of name, the hotels will be managed by Grand City.
First properties (33 out of 43 hotels) will be rebranded already by the end of this month. The remaining ten hotels will change their names steadily within one or two years. The deal allows Wyndham to introduce its Wyndham brand in Germany and its Tryp brand in the Netherlands and Belgium.
